Our message is meant to applaud the inventions of all Ghanaian youth especially during this time of COVID-19.
“What we must understand is that the industries, processes, and inventions created by modern science can be a means to subjugate or liberate. The Choice is up to us (Henry. A Wallace).” It is in this light of making choices that the Youth Wing of the NPP Germany is affirming and appraising the efforts of Mr Richard Kwarteng Anning, the young Ghanaian who invented the Solar Sensor Automated Handwashing Basin (sink).
This has proven that in times of crisis the creativity possessed by the youth of our country, Africa as well as in the world hold the key to solving problems we encounter globally.
This initiative by Mr Anning and his team has resonated the words of Nelson Mandela when he said, “It always seems impossible until it is done”. Their invention has reached the ears of the world and hence the youth wing has also paid attention to the events leading to this and afterward.
Our advice will heed to encourage Mr Anning to continue to put the nation’s interest at heart and fight for his dreams as a genius and inventor.
Also, just as the president has acknowledged his innovation and taken steps to help its mass production, the youth wing applauds President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and all stakeholders for their willingness to support this incredible invention.
We also encourage the Ministry of science and technology to continue to create an enabling environment for such young geniuses like Mr Anning whose inventions will continue to project the name of our motherland.
Ayikoo to all Ghanaians using science and technology to fight against this COVID-19. May your initiatives and inventions be successful always.
Furthermore, the youth wing will take practical steps to find collaborations and sponsors to help turn this ingenuity into a favourable venture for Ghana, Africa, and the World.
On behalf of our *Youth Commander and an Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for Manso Nkwanta Constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Oppong BOAKYE-YIADOM (“Prof”/OBEY)* We say, *Mo ne yo Mr. Richard Kwarteng Anning*. Mo ne yo Ghana Mmebuno.
