Implementation of a new, grid-based bus network, previously planned by IndyGo for June 2020, will be postponed due to several factors related to the coronavirus outbreak.
COVID-19 has impacted IndyGo’s operations in many ways. At its March meeting, the IndyGo board authorized staff to begin operating Saturday service on weekdays and temporarily suspend fare collection. It is not clear at this time how long these measures will remain in place. The agency says it is closely monitoring guidance from government and health officials as it determines the safest and most efficient way to operate service moving forward.
In recognition of these impacts, the board approved postponing the implementation of the new network. Other planned service modifications, such as bus stop changes, will also be postponed.
