$40k Bribe: Excerpts from Kevin Taylor’s interview with Yakubu Salis, the man who recorded Nana Addo

*Excerpts from Kevin Taylor’s interview with Yakubu Salis (The man who recorded Nana Addo taken the $40,000 bribe*

1. Video clip was done in July 2017
Present were President Akufo Addo, Dr. Bawua, Fawzia and Salis
2. Abass is a Director at Urban Roads.
3. Abass contributed in cash and kind during candidate Akufo Addo’s campaign
4. Contractors sponsored Akufo Addo through Rebecca Akufo Addo
5. Those contractors later used Rebecca to lobby for Abass to be removed for them to put their own person there.
6. Their person they had in mind is the deputy director at Urban Roads
7. Several monies paid by Abass through Salis to some intermediaries close to Akufo Addo to save him never got to the President.
8. Pressure continued to mount on Abass to be removed.
9. Abass wanted Ama Busia to lead him to Akufo Addo
10. Ama Busia rather suggested Dr. Bawua to go with them.
11. Dr. Bawua demanded and received Ghc10,000 for his role to lead a delegation to President Akufo Addo.
12. Salis had previously made some payments through intermediaries which never got to President Akufo Addo
13. Salis decided to arm himself with a spy camera to capture the event for Abass to know that mission is accomplished.
14. He had before then made some secret recordings on President Akufo Addo’s previous visits to Ama Busia’s residence.
15. Salis had also made some clips on Kennedy Agyapong.
16. He released some of these Video clips to a friend in Kumasi.
17. Through this friend, some officials of Flag Staff House got to know of the existence of such a damming video clip.
18. Flag Staff House released $3m to be offered to stop the clip from moving into circulation.
19. Abu Jinapor was in charge of that effort.
20. Abu Jinapor called Salis the morning after Ahmed Souale was killed to find how he was doing. Remember, Souale was killed the previous night
21. Other NPP friends also called him one after the other to check on him with a mistaken belief that he was dead.
22. After knowing that he was alive and well, their usual response was Allahamdula meaning “we thank God”
23. It was later that he Salis learnt of the killing of Ahmed Souale
24. Salis is a card bearing NPP man and even contested in their recent primaries to stand in Yapei Kusaugu constituency.
25. It has become clear which of the video clips is authentic.
26. Salis has released a lot of damming video clips on President Akufo Addo and Kennedy Agyapong to Kevin Taylor to be released from tomorrow.
26. The following witnesses are alive and can speak to the issues.
a. President Akufo Addo
b. Dr. Bawua
c. Abu Jinapor
d. Fawzia
e. Ama Busia
f. Salis’ friend from Kumasi
g. Alhaji Abass
h. Kennedy Agyapong
i. Other Flag Staff House intermediaries who intercepted bribes meant for President
