The Electricity Company of Ghana has cut power to Tema Oil Refinery(TOR) over the company’s failure to pay some 10 million cedis debt owned in electricity bills.
ECG who is on a mass revenue collection exercise cut the power supply to TOR around 12 noon yesterday.
Our source from Tema Oil Refinery says the new Managing Director says he is fed up and would not make any effort to plead with ECG to restore power supply to the company.
His reason was that as an MD, if this news about ECG cutting power supply to TOR goes viral, it will bring shame to the government hence he will keep quiet over it.
From our checks, the 10 million debt was accrued largely during the time of the outgone MD for TOR.
