Covid-19: Papa Owusu-Ankomah is in stable condition – High Commission
Ghana’s High Commission to the United Kingdom has confirmed that the High Commissioner, Papa Owusu Ankomah is in stable condition after contracting coronavirus (Covid-19).
Report of the High Commissioner living with the virus went viral last week. He was reportedly said to have been sent to the intensive care unit (ICU) of one of the Royal Hospitals, where he was put on ventilator, responding to treatment.
“We wish to inform you that indeed the High Commissioner has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and to assure all of you that he is in a stable condition,” the High Commission said in a statement on Wednesday.
It however entreated the general public to be “restraint in their utterances and avoid uninformed speculation about the health status of our High Commissioner”.
While thanking all well-wishers for the solidarity and warm wishes extended to the High Commissioner, it urged all to pray for his full recovery.
The statement also advised all to observe laid down protocols on the pandemic to stay safe.
