The minority in Parliament has served notice that they would push for a probe into yesterday’s riots which marred the Arise Ghana Demonstration.
According to them, Ghana has come a long way to have such a disgraceful experience of the Police Service unleashing terror on unarmed demonstrators.
Yesterday, things got out of hand when Ghanaians who wanted to go picket at the Jubilee house over various issues affecting the country were met with Tear Gars and Hot water by the Police Service.
Civilians who were just going about their normal routines were equally hit with the whole of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle engulfed with smokes from the tear gas the Police fired.
Contrary to an earlier directive by the IGP George Dampare for his men to be Professionals, images captured show Police Men in riots controlling vans and pelting demonstrators with stones rather.
For almost two hours, the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra came to a standstill with exchanges between Police and Civilians.
The Police service has tried to blame everything on the demonstrators by insisting, that they have rather attacked the reason they hit back with tear gas and pepper spray.
The minority has said they will table the matter on the floor of Parliament to be investigated
