Nine persons have lost their lives following floods in the North East Region.
According to a situational report released by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the deceased comprised four males and five females.
Regional NADMO Coordinator Kweku John Alhassan gave their ages as between 16 and 54.
There are suspicions some of them may have died from thunder during the heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths is feared to increase as NADMO officers intensify rescue efforts in the Region.
Hours of downpour in the north on Monday, August 30 rendered many communities flooded.
The impending spillage of the Bagre and Kompienga dams in Burkina Faso is expected to worsen the situation in that part of the country.
Notwithstanding, NADMO has pitched camp in most of the areas to be affected as it re-launches Operation Thunderstorm.
