Ghana was shocked last week when story broke that two teenagers had killed a 10 year old at Lamptey Mills a Suburb of Kasoa for Money Ritual.
Since then, many are those who are blaming Television stations and some media houses in general for giving their platforms to fetishes and other ritualist to advertise how to make quick money in their platform.
While Kevin Taylor believes it’s not bad to blame the TV stations, he also added that the bigger part of the blame should go to the regulator of these media houses which is the Communication ministry headed by Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful as minister and National Communication Authority headed by Joe Anokye.
Speaking on the sad Development Kevin Taylor said Ghanaians known the right quarters to blame but are just going round the issue.
Kevin Taylor attributed to media houses to small scale miners, he said Ghana is struggling to deal with issues of galamsey because the regulatory bodies after giving license to small scale mining companies goes to sleep without keeping them in check hence they go out there to do whatever they wish
“This issue about some young boys killing a fellow At Kasoa should be blamed on Ursula Owusu and her ministry.
In any serious country, people will be resigning for not doing their job.
How can you only blame the Tv stations when the regulator who is paid with taxes to keep these things in check is not doing her job ?
The reason why Ursula Owusu takes money than my mother or auntie in the village is because they want her to perform a specific task which she has failed to do.
They go about closing down radio situations belonging to opponents when money ritualist have taken over other platforms.
Ursula Owusu is in her 5th year as Communication Minister, do you want to tell me not until the unfortunate Kasoa incident she had no idea of money ritualist advertising on national television?
Media houses are in business and will give their platform to anyone who brings the money, it is you the regulator who is supposed to keep them in check” He said
Meanwhile, the ofaakor court has remanded the two teenagers in custody for investigation to be done on the ritual killing.
The “mallam” who is suspected to have asked the boys to kill for the Money Ritual has also been arrested to help investigators to unravel the whole truth of the matter.
