Civil Society Organizations Like Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability(ASEPA” and Good Governance Advocacy Group( GGAGG) want the appointment of Tarkwa Nsuaem MP Mireku Duker as Deputy minister for Lands and Natural Resources By Akufo Addo revoked.
According to the CSOs, they have evidence that the nominee is deeply involved in Galamsey activities within his constituency and deserve no such position as a deputy minister for lands and natural resources.
Spokesperson for the CSOs Listowel Nana Opoku called on President Akufo Addo to change his choice because Mireku Duker’s appointment will only worsen the fight against Galamsey.
Mr Nana Opoku Said Mireku Duker has formed a vigilante group within his constituency to be harassing people who will blow cover on his illegal mining activities in the towns within the constituency.
