The Minority in Parliament on Tuesday March 29 staged a walkout during the second reading on the E-levy.
They walked out after the Minority Leader leader Haruna Iddrisu said the NDC MPs remain united in opposing the policy.
Contributing to the E-levy debate on the floor of the House on Tuesday March 29, he described the policy proposal as punitive which if approved will further increase the “the high cost of doing business in the country.”
“E-levy is the nuisance of nuisance tax,” he said, adding that “businesses are suffering under your watch. We are united that we will not support E-levy, we will not vote for E-levy.”
The NPP against general wish of Ghanaians has insisted on passing E-Levy knowing they have mismanaged the Economy.
An extremely sick Ahanta West MP on the ticket of the NPP was brought in an ambulance to take part of the process.
The minority side of the house walked out as part of parliamentary procedures to oppose the bill.
The Akufo Addo led government is bent on using the Supreme Court to reduce the number of the NDC with the Supreme Court set to rule a motion to stop the Assin North MP Gyakye Quayson from going to parliament.
Fuel prices is at record high, the dollar has broken mail, inflation out of the roof with the prices of commodities going up outrageously, this move of the NPP will only worsen the plight of the already excruciating pain and hardship they have led Ghanaians into.
