Victims of crime may need some time to realize the seriousness of what happened to them. It isn’t always easy to come forward. It can take years for others to come forward out of fear. But the victim has rights throughout the entire process, such as the right to be heard.
For those of you who think after the facts that Serwaa Broni is wrong to make “money” her priority in the live interview granted on loud silence media should reconsider “a review” Let us believe that Serwaa Broni deliberately demanded money from the president as a result of the “state sponsored robbery attack” . She is 100% right to demand money in compensation under the law.
It does not If you personally feel she has no right to make money out of her traumatic experience, it is lawful for her to demand money. If you feel that, she should focus on the crime rather than focusing on the “money”, kindly watch the entire interview again.
How many minutes did she talk about the money?
How many times did she talk about her traumaticexperience?
How many times did she talk about her health, lack of trust and broken promises?
My observation is that, money was the least “mentioned” And it does not matter whether it was mentioned the least or most.
The main nucleus of her interview is the crime commited by the state & the breach of a compensation agreement on settlement.
It is extremely astonishing that, most people bashing Serwaa Broni are predominantly women living in Europe, United States and the Western World where democratic rights are supremely vital.
When a crime is committed, the victim is usually the person most affected by the crime. The victim may have suffered physical injury, psychological injury and in some cases, permanent loss of trust.
In some cases, the victim’s immediate family could be considered victims as well.
And for those of you living in the UK, Australia, Canada & the US, I encourage you to read about the law on settlement & compensation for victims of crime by an individual, organization or the state.
The Law
CRIMINAL INJURIES COMPENSATION LAW IN CANADA, AUSTRALIA & UNITED KINGDOM
Criminal Injuries Compensation is a scheme provided by the Government to provide monetary compensation to victims of criminal acts resulting in physical or mental injury.
If the body to blame is an institution/state agencies rather than an individual, then their financial viability is important.
Survivors may also be able to make a civil claim against the person/body who may be to blame (the perpetrator, her/his employer, a local authority, or the managers of an institution). By bringing a civil action, you will be seeking monetary compensation for the physical and mental injuries you suffered
as a result of false imprisonment, sexually, emotionally or physically abused. A civil lawsuit is possible even if no criminal complaint was ever filed.
- Prosecution Can Allow the Accused and the Victim to Settle Criminal Matters Amicably.
- The victim can ask for money to compensate them for the harm suffered.
Serwaa Broni did not demand money because of her sexual intimacy with President Nana Addo.
Serwaa Broni did not demand money because of the pictures with Nana Addo.
Serwaa Broni did not demand money because she was on board the presidential jet.
Serwaa Broni did not demand money because of the extra-marital affairs.
Serwaa Broni did not demand money because she was the “Co-Pilot” on the presidential jet.
Serwaa Broni is demanding money because an agreement for compensation & settlement had been breached as a result of the false imprisonment & staged robbery by the “national security”
The question is, would you be offended by the breach of contract if you were in her shoes?
Would you not be offended by the lengthy delay in trying to receive the full compensation?
And for those of you bashing her, she should have considered Madam Rebecca & refrained from cheating must also remind President Nana Addo of his marital status?
It takes two to tango
Why are you solely blaming Serwaa Broni? Have you asked the president why Madam Rebecca does not accompany him on 99% of all his trips abroad & home? Can you see why 1+1 is not 3.
Fellow Ghanaians, this case is not about immorality, it is about criminality.
